I am the luckiest wife. Happy Anniversary, my love!
Wine Weekend
This weekend was our annual Chism family wine trip that we have taken for the past 3 years. I always look forward to this weekend... for the wine naturally, but it's such a carefree weekend for us because my brother-in-law plans the whole thing. There are dozens of wineries all over and you really need to have a plan of action for hitting up certain ones or you'll end up driving for hours. Plus, our experience tell us that the best ones are tucked far away from the main highways.
This year, the wineries were all new and some of my favorites yet. Perissos Vineyards was the hit, not only for the wine but the people there were so knowledgeable and fun. The wine maker was out talking to everyone and we got to sample some wine straight from the barrel. They made us feel like we were the only ones there tasting wine and we certainly weren't.
I always say this, but if you live in Texas (and like wine) this is a trip that you must take. You won't feel like you are in Texas, yet it's so easy to make a weekend or long weekend out of it. I recommend going in the spring before it gets too hot and you can enjoy the great patios after buying your favorite bottle. Like true Texas weather, we've quickly jumped from 70s to the 90s this week and the sweating has begun.
Wonderful Weekend
The weather this weekend was so beautiful! Aside from a little shopping with my best bud, we spent most of the days outside in the form of concerts, patios, walks, tennis and picnics. I know that in a few short months (or weeks - you just never know) the Texas heat will be beating down on us, so we are taking advantage of these 70 degree days. Love them.
Happy Monday!
Tomorrow is tax day. Even though I was an accountant in my pre-stationery life, ever since I started my business and taxes are way more than a quick input of a few numbers, I've procrastinated until the very end. So I am pretty proud of myself that yesterday afternoon, I filed... two days early. That's not normally my thing, but you know, I don't need to rush to pay the government, like I might if it was the other way around. Yep, no refund this year... :(
On Wednesday, I have a photo shoot for my wedding collection and my room is a mess with potential props everywhere. (That's just a *small* sampling above - it got much messier after I took that photo!) I am so excited so have some professional photos of my hard work. Can't wait to share!
Taking Advantage
I am taking advantage of my non-8-to-5-job lately! I took a Friday off for a long weekend in Houston and last week I took a mini trip to the Texas hill country with my parents, who were in town for spring break. We tasted wine (and beer), shopped and relaxed. Loved it.
Progress on the website is a frustrating subject lately, but in the effort to think positively, I received the first half of my letterpress (bottom left) and flat print samples! So I don't go crazy, I am trying to celebrate the little victories!
