Font Friday: Anodyne

Happy Friday! While Anodyne, a fun stamp-like font, isn't new to most designers, the fact that it's 75% off might be. Until February 25th, you can get all six versions for $19. After that, they will each be $20, so don't miss out on this deal if you are thinking about purchasing it! I liked it, but was trying to curb my font purchases... but I can't pass up a good sale. If you can't either, you can buy it here! Photobucket

Have a great weekend!

Almost

Ever since November, I've been working towards two huge goals: a wedding collection and a new website. In November, my goal was to finish both of these in February. That wasn't based on anything, it just sounded like a good goal and so I went with it, but self-imposed deadlines might be the most stressful. Not surprisingly, things haven’t been the smoothest and it was hard and kind of defeating to realize I wasn't going to finish on my timeline.... But alas, it is February and as you can see, I managed to let go of my deadline. It's not ready, but I am definitely getting closer. The designs are almost done and website design is in full swing! It feels so good that the end is FINALLY in sight. I am no longer beating myself up about missing this 'deadline', and I am really excited to finally see things that seemed too big to envision a few months ago, materializing before my eyes.

Want to see a little bit of what I have been pouring my heart and soul in to?

I had all 27 (!?!) designs laying around my room last week and I looked around and got a little emotional. Creativity has been fleeting for me lately. It’s here today, gone tomorrow, and making final decisions has been a struggle. But in the end, I am so happy with the designs.

It’s hard to call it ‘done’, but oh, it’s getting close, and I am truly ALMOST there.

Custom Design: Bow Tie Baby Shower Invitations

I design a lot of invitations for a group of girls, one of which is a friend from high school and has been sweet to always think of me for invitations since the very beginning. I am glad to be involved, because this group throws the sweetest parties. No matter that they are all having babies around the same time and it's showers galore - each one is a cute theme with plenty of details to make each mommy-to-be feel special. bow tie baby shower invitations

This shower was a 'little man' shower and they wanted to incorporate a bow tie. As one who loves them (my husband happens to pull them off quite nicely), I think it's a great theme for a baby boy shower or a baby room.

Since this type of shower isn't uncommon (you can easily google it and come up with so many bow-tie invitations), I always try to put my own spin on it. In this case, I paired my bow tie and button illustrations with a little less traditional layout to keep it fresh and fun!

* The bow tie in the photo is one I got on Etsy for photo styling... the fact that it's such a good match is just a coincidence and one I didn't notice until I took the photos. Gotta love happy accidents.

Font Friday: Prova

Photobucket I love stumbling upon a great font, and in this case, I stumbled upon several great fonts and an awesome designer/illustrator, Gerren Lamson, who is amazingly talented and a Texan to boot.

He has several hand drawn fonts, but my favorite probably has to be Prova. It's so unique and fun and quite a deal at $10. You can purchase it here, but be sure to check out his other fonts here.

Custom Design: Pajamas and Pancakes Birthday Invitation

More custom designs! I am finally getting some of my work photographed... so lots of custom design goodies on the docket for you! Today, it's Reid's Pajamas and Pancakes birthday invitations. Pajamas and pancakes invitations

How cute is this party theme?! Courtney snapped some photos of her son, Reid, in his pajamas, enjoying a little pancake breakfast to use for the invitation. It doesn't get much cuter than this people!

Not to compete with the photo, I left the invitation portion simple with little spatulas and designed the back to match his pajama pants. Courtney came up with all the wording, which was so fun: 'flipping up some fun', 'Reid's pancake house', and 'should we save you a stack?'. Cuteness overload! Happy Birthday little man!
