Font Friday: Katie Rose

So excited about this week's Font Friday, because there's a bit of a personal connection to this font. Photobucket

Katie Rose is a beautifully understated calligraphy font designed by Minted designer, Laura Condouris. I love learning what designers are doing outside of Minted, and it looks like Laura has been busy. She so talented! Check out her site, Trial by Cupcakes, to see more of her work.

Katie Rose is such an amazing deal at only $16, so go support a Mintie and purchase this lovely at myfonts.com right here!

For more font love, don’t forget to check out the picks of my favorite font friends: Alexandra & Craig from The Aerialist Press, Allison at Allison Owen Design, Anna from And Everything Nice, Jen from Blush Printables, Sophia and Andre at Brancoprata, Steph from Bubblerock, Cecile of Cecile Paper Lounge, Catherine at Design Editor,  Laurel at Go Against the Grain, Jenny from Hank + Hunt, Allie at Honey Bee Invites, Lauren from Lauren Elise Crafted, Jenna and Elizabeth from Little Bit Heart, Kerry from Super SwoonVicki from Vicki Designer and Wendy at Weswen Design (#fontfriday on twitter)

Meet Laurel

dallas wedding invitations The Laurel wedding invitation is the perfect mix of vintage and modern. The billy balls/billy buttons/ craspedia – whatever you call them - add a little charm to this modern invitation and the gingham backer gives everything a casual outdoorsy feel.

I know billy balls are seen a lot, but I still love them and if you are using yellow, they are such a great way to add a playful spin to otherwise elegant flowers, like roses or peonies.

OSBP Designer Rolodex

dallas wedding invitations I am so excited to be a part of the Oh So Beautiful Paper Designer Rolodex!

From Oh So Beautiful Paper: "The Designer Rolodex is a curated directory of wedding invitation designers, and its members represent the best of the best.  Members of the Designer Rolodex have been hand selected as the most talented, innovative, and unique designers in the wedding invitation community. "

That's fancy speak for a selective vendor listing, but I am so, so honored to be included! Oh So Beautiful Paper is one of my favorite blogs. If you want, you can view my profile here.

Meet Nantucket

nautical wedding invitations Nantucket was inspired by, where else, the lovely island of Nantucket. Nautical and chic, but still playful and a little preppy, it's a great theme for any beach wedding invitation. I love the bold navy paired with the subtle grey stripes (I like my grey and I like my stripes, what can I say).

A couple of years ago, we spent a few days in Cape Cod/Nantucket and I loved the elegant, nautical feel and think a wedding in that area might look a little something like this...

Meet Rosemary

dallas letterpress wedding invitations Rosemary is a personal favorite of mine with its hand drawn feel, playful typefaces and square layout. The letterpress printing only enhances its sweet features. And while I think the square size is worth every penny in extra postage,  you could always order it in a 5x7 layout if you wanted.

I am also learning that I am a sucker for an outdoor black and white wedding. I usually associate black and white with formal, evening weddings, but I quickly learned that doesn't have to be the case. From small accents of sashes or bowties to the beautiful blooms and bridesmaids' dresses, black and white has never been prettier.
