Featured: Behind the Invitation on Style Me Pretty

Art Deco Great Gatsby Gold Foil Wedding Invitations by Lauren Chism

I have been dyyyyyyyying to share these wedding invitations and am so excited to do so along with the whole wedding, which was insanely beautiful. Their invitations and wedding were featured on Style Me Pretty last week, in a 'Behind the Invitation' feature. You can read all about Megan's vision and all the details of their custom design there.

Megan and Lincoln were married at Castle Hill Inn, in Newport, Rhode Island in the dreamiest wedding. There were so many wonderful details and since pictures speak loader than words, I'll stop typing, and let you take in the gorgeous day!

I also designed a custom monogram for her to use on programs and cocktail napkins.

Megan is a dream client. Her style and vision was so clear, yet she didn't micro-manage my design work and let me do my thing. I love how the suite uses a mix of high and low cost printing methods - it's not matchy-matchy but everything works together seamlessly.

I absolutely love this bride,  her invitation suite and wedding - what a magical day!

Featured: Carley + John's Wedding Invitations on Oh So Beautiful Paper

photo Lace-and-gold-wedding-invitations_lauren-chism_1.jpg You got a little peek at Carley and John's wedding invitations on Style Me Pretty last week, but as promised, I finally get to share all the details because they were featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper today!

 photo Lace-and-gold-wedding-invitations_lauren-chism_3.jpg

Where do I begin? Although Carley really gave me the freedom to do what I wanted, I really needed something to get me started in the right direction, so she mentioned that she loved the color combo of my business holiday card.  If you don't remember, they were gold foil printed on Arturo Stone Gray card stock.  She was working with a mix of metallics for her colors, so I thought the two were perfect together, however I was against doing the Arturo for the actual invitation. I wanted that part to be classic and timeless, so we went with a more traditional ivory cotton, which was Crane's Lettra Pearl White.  I brought the gray in with the RSVP envelopes and I used a blind impression lace pattern on the background as a little nod to Carley's beautiful lace dress.

And that brings us to the star of this show, the calligraphy! I collaborated with Courtnie Johnson of Poppy Pedals, and the results were perfection. Every script accent is her beautiful work. Not only is she the sweetest, her work is impeccable. I love love love her calligraphy style!

Instead of going with the obvious option of gold calligraphy (which I love and almost did), I decided to bring in the grey with the guest addressing. I love the softness and I feel like it perfectly tied everything together.

The invitations were printed by Czar Press and the invitation photography is by Cesar and Tanya of Perez Photography (so grateful for them!), with a few closeups by Carley's photographer, Arielle Doneson.

Thank you so much for the feature, Nole!

I have been dying to share these beautiful photos and that day is finally here! Carley (my gorgeous baby sister) and John were married in May and their wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty this week! photo Carley-and-John-Wed_Lauren-Chism-FIne-Papers_1.jpg

Carley and John were married in Aurora, Ohio, with a traditional ceremony at Parkside Church, and the reception down the road at The Bertram Inn. The day couldn't have been more perfect. It was a little rainy and chilly - I think it sleeted the morning of, but by the time we left the church, the sun was peaking through the clouds, creating the most amazing light.

This wedding was a labor of love. My love of weddings and profession, meant that Carley relied on me for a lot of the details of her big day. My biggest accomplishment by far, was finding Arielle of Arielle Doneson Photography. I knew immediately that I had found a gem. Her images evoke so much emotion - I was just part of the wedding party and these photos bring me to tears! I can only imagine the joy that they bring Carley and John.

This photo of Carley and my niece, Annie, is one of my favorite photos of all time.

Her dress. Her shoes. Her hair! Everything came together perfectly. Her dress was from David's Bridal. (I know! I always suggest people look there first, if you don't find anything you like, then at least you 'tried' to go the discount route. IF you care about that kind of thing. DB has come a long way in the past 5+ years. My dress was from there - which I spotted on the cover of a magazine, and I feel like it's this little secret - no one suspects you got such a deal and we Hrusovsky women like to find a good bargain.)

I absolutely loved our bridesmaids dresses. As you can see, they weren't your traditional bridesmaid dresses. Carley initially wanted to mix and match, but we found this dress at Nordstrom and everyone wanted to wear it, so we went with it. They were a hit (guests, female and male were complimenting) and for once, I will actually wear it again!

And of course, we can't forget the invitations! The details of which will be in another post, but I worked with Courtnie Johnson of Poppy Pedals for all the calligraphy.

In addition to the invitations, Courtnie provided calligraphy throughout the day-of paper goods: like Mr. & Mrs. Signs, Guest Book Sign, and programs:

My favorite was her 'Just Married' sign. I loved it on that classic car! A gorgeous getaway.

I could probably go on and on, but I'll spare you. If you want, you can view all the photos of Carley and John's wedding on Style Me Pretty!

While I know every bride that comes through LC Fine Papers for their wedding invitations, the same can't be said for the brides that order my designs through Minted. I get a little email saying that someone, in some city, ordered a certain design, and I always wonder about who it is and what type of wedding they are having. So it is always a nice surprise when one of those weddings pop up on a blog and that's exactly what happened a few weeks ago on Snippet & Ink. photo Minted_Lauren-Chism-Fine-Papers1.jpg

My Twine wedding invitation was used in Glenn and Jennifer's black tie wedding in New Mexico.

They had such gorgeous details! I love those flowers - which the bride did herself! Impressive.

photo Shadi-and-John_Lauren-Chism-Fine-Papers_2.jpg I am so excited to share that one of my clients, Shadi, and her beautiful wedding was featured in Brides of North Texas Magazine! Not only did the wedding grace several pages of the magazine, the stunning bride was on the cover! They were married at Le Meridien, The Stoneleigh and it was the perfect setting for this jaw dropping wedding.

 photo Shadi-and-John_Lauren-Chism-Fine-Papers_1.jpg

There were so many gorgeous details! Her dress was a show stopper, the florals were to die for, and those rings! I was honored to have a shot of her save the dates and wedding invitations included in the spread.

Shadi was so enjoyable to work with and I am so honored to have been a part of her big day! As always, I love being a part of such an awesome vendor group: After Yes, Bows + Arrows, Perez Photography and Sugar Bee Sweets!
